About Me

My photo
Welcome to the travels of Doug and Nada. We love the Lord and are traveling full-time in our motorhome with our German Shepherd, Homer. Homer is the star attraction wherever we stop and he gets us talking and sharing with many people. DON'T FORGET: YOU CAN ENLARGE EACH PHOTO BY CLICKING ON THE PHOTO! The newest blog post is at the top and they go back in time as you scroll down. If you want to see each photo larger, you can just click on the photo and it will enlarge. If you decide to leave a comment, don't forget to sign it so we know who left it. ;-) Folks: This site is under continual construction as we travel and see this beautiful country. Check back for more updates and photos. Thanks for visiting with us! May God bless your day!

Green parakeets, Garry & Homer

These beautiful but really quite noisy parakeets (a small parrot) live here in the Rio Grande Valley and we are blessed to have flocks of them that roost in the trees of our RV flock. They will fly around the park in the early morning hours and in the dusk hours sitting in the trees and on the wires and then flying around again and again. All day long they are absent as they are out foraging for food in the farm fields. When they are here they make such a racket but it is so pretty to see the flocks of green flying around. Homer's ears go back and his face wrinkles when they fly low over our site - their squawking makes him bark at them .

This is Garry and Homer. Garry and Barb are our next door neighbors and Homer just loves Garry because he always has treats for him - little bites of doggie bacon!  He'd love Barb as much as Garry if she was the one who was always giving the bacon treats - Truth is Barb has a soft spot too for dog-kids. ;-) If Garry isn't home, Barb has been know to dig out the doggie bacon and make sure Homer got his treats!

Pepe (you met Pepe in the previous post - he is the mini-Chihuahua that lives on our other side) runs away from home on a regular basis and he makes a beeline for either Garry's or our place - the two places he gets treats. ;-)
