About Me

My photo
Welcome to the travels of Doug and Nada. We love the Lord and are traveling full-time in our motorhome with our German Shepherd, Homer. Homer is the star attraction wherever we stop and he gets us talking and sharing with many people. DON'T FORGET: YOU CAN ENLARGE EACH PHOTO BY CLICKING ON THE PHOTO! The newest blog post is at the top and they go back in time as you scroll down. If you want to see each photo larger, you can just click on the photo and it will enlarge. Dee and Sharon visit the Valley

Dee is a Tiffin RV friend who winters in New Braunfels, TX on the north side of San Antonio. She usually comes south for a winter visit with us in the Rio Grande Valley. This year, she brought her cousin, Sharon, with her. We took a boat ride on the Rio Grande just like we did last month with our San Antonio friends, Ruth and Gavino. I fell down on my job of taking photos on the boat ride so no photos of that. ;-( On the second day we went to Quinta Mazatlan where we spotted some birds and also toured the beautiful early 20th century hacienda.
Above you can see a Chachalaca and below some lichen growing on a dead palm trunk.

We went to the Republic of the Rio Grande Restaurant for dinner the one night. They put brown craft paper on the tables and bring you crayons to keep busy with until your food comes. Doug was so hungry he drew his plate with a steak, homefries, and green beans on the paper and then proceeded to cut his steak with his utensils!
