July 4th on the 5th
Josh and Vicky invited some family to their place for a picnic. It was a beautiful day - not too hot. Of course, family meant Homer, too, so he could visit with Briar, Josh and Vicky's yellow lab. Homer turned 6 years old on the 4th of July so 1 1/2 year old Briar can tire the old guy out! He slept the whole way home from the picnic, all night, and all day today!

36th Anniversary
June 23rd was our 36th wedding anniversary. We spent the evening reminiscing the events of the 36 years. We had a lovely dinner at Hotel Hershey and they served this dish in celebration of our anniversary. It is funny what you think about when reminiscing.. Our table was right at window's edge looking out on the beautiful formal gardens and reflecting pool. It brought back the memory of the homeschool writing club when Josh, our son, was just 9 or 10 years old. Bruce Hinkle, the leader for the Wrestling Writing Wranglers Club, used to have us meet in unique locations each month where the children of all ages would read their original composition. Each month the assignment was something different (parables, limericks, allegories, etc.). One month we met in the marble pagoda at the end of the reflecting pool where Doug and I were now looking out on for our anniversary dinner. What fond memories we have of our years together and the many paths we have traveled together.

Fire Protection
While we were attending the FMCA Rally in Perry, GA in March, Doug realized we needed some fire protection in the motorhome. He ordered automatic extinguishers for in the engine compartment and the refrigerator compartment. The refrigerator is the leading cause of fire in motorhomes since it has the propane option. We also replanned our escapes from each area of the motorhome and practiced opening the escape windows.
In the first photo below, you are looking from the outside of the coach and it shows the new extinguisher mounted in the refrigerator compartment.
In the following photo, it shows the extinguisher that Doug mounted in the rear engine compartment. You are looking from behind and outside the coach over the engine to the fire extinguisher.
We hope we never have to use these, but if so then they will give us the extra time to get out safely.
