Well, thanks for stopping by. We have been in northern New Jersey selling our aerial photos for the last two weeks. We are just 30 to 40 miles west of New York City and we are in the rural mountains and lakes. Most of the folks who live here commute the hour drive or 30 minute train ride into NYC. When we have been out selling the photos we have just been amazed at the deer who are EVERYWHERE! They are so bold and just stand and look at you. In this first photo there was a little fawn with spots with these two females. The fawn was a typical ADHD kid and was jumping, rolling, running, hopping (and hopped right out of my photo when I took it!) while these two females just grazed on the grass and the new flowers that had just been planted in the flower beds. It made me think of my brother and sister-in-law who have gone to such great lengths to plant all kinds of beautiful native flowers on their northern Virginia home only to have deer come along and sample. They now have two requirements for what they plant: beautiful and native AND deer proof! Yesterday morning we were in our motorhome at the campground. The campground was deserted since it was a weekday and school is still in session in NJ and NY. Doug was sitting by the low window and all of our windows were open. I looked up and there was a deer standing two feet outside the window looking in. She stood there so long we figured she was waiting for a handout and then she mosied on through the campground.
