About Me

My photo
Welcome to the travels of Doug and Nada. We love the Lord and are traveling full-time in our motorhome with our German Shepherd, Homer. Homer is the star attraction wherever we stop and he gets us talking and sharing with many people. DON'T FORGET: YOU CAN ENLARGE EACH PHOTO BY CLICKING ON THE PHOTO! The newest blog post is at the top and they go back in time as you scroll down. If you want to see each photo larger, you can just click on the photo and it will enlarge. If you decide to leave a comment, don't forget to sign it so we know who left it. ;-) Folks: This site is under continual construction as we travel and see this beautiful country. Check back for more updates and photos. Thanks for visiting with us! May God bless your day!

Cleaning out the house

I haven't posted for over a month and it has been a VERY BUSY month! We arrived back home on April 21st and immediately hit the ground running on our jobs getting ready for the annual CHAP (Christian Homeschool Assoc. of PA) Homeschool Convention. We also had those fun tasks such as lawn mowing and the looming task of cleaning out the house in preparation for settlement. Once again, God blessed the Homeschool Convention as about 7,000 folks attended the two-day convention. Then, immediately after the convention, we started the cleaning out process on the house. We had done some of this before we went south in February but our hindsight now tells us we didn't do enough and we had too much "stuff!" We scheduled our moving sale for Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We had great neighbors and friends who helped us to make fast work of a very stressful time. So we are now just a couple days of being "house-less" as we are wrapping up details in our home area and getting our storage stuff in order. I will be posting more as we start some traveling, first to New Jersey, back to PA, then Virginia, and to Niagara Falls in September for the national homeschool leadership conferences. From Niagara Falls, we plan to head west until we hit the Rockies, then turn south along the spine of the Rockies until we get to the southern border of the US and decide whether we want to go to south TX or to AZ for the winter. Thanks for checking in with us - stop back again to see where we are and what we are up to. Happy trails and blessings until then!
